Before founding Medical Minds, our team members served as the agency of record for the launch of Lap-Band®. We’ve followed the obesity market over the years since then and are very familiar with the growing epidemic in obesity and its association with diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Highlights of our work in this area include:
- Performed a landscape analysis of the evolving obesity/cardiometabolic space including GLP-1s and novel agents with different mechanisms of action
- Collaborated with KOLs to write more than 25 journal articles/book chapters on obesity-related topics, including the pivotal US clinical trials for Lap-Band, and postoperative management of gastric bypass surgery
- Developed Lap-Band positioning, branding, and product promotion
- As part of our work with Lap-Band, we established the Council for Advances in Bariatrics (CAB) to address misconceptions about obesity and surgical intervention and to teach Lap-Band bariatric surgical techniques
- Created promotional concepts and patient materials and orchestrated market research to support the European launch of Satiety’s TOGA® System
